What is Career Shadowing?
Career shadowing is a worksite experience (typically three to six hours) during which a student spends time one-on-one with an employee observing daily activities and asking questions about their career and the work place.
Career Shadowing Helps Students:
• Acquire first-hand information in a "real" work setting
• Make informed and realistic decisions about the future
• Develop a positive attitude about themselves and the world of work
• Explore the world of careers
Before Career Shadowing, Students will....
• Complete Career Shadowing application
• Interview with Career Mentor
• Obtain parent signature on permission slip
When Above is Turned in, Career Mentor Will...
• Locate site for student to Career Shadow (parent/student provides transportation)
• Contact student with Career Shadowing information
After Career Shadowing, Students Will...
• Write Thank You note to Career Shadowing host
• Meet with Career Mentor for follow-up
• Complete student evalation.
