Overview

All students deserve an opportunity to understand the power of mathematics. Students need to learn a set of mathematics skills that enable them to compute fluently and to solve problems creatively and resourcefully.

Our vision is that all students have access to rigorous, high-quality mathematics instruction, including four years of high school mathematics.

Elk Grove's math curriculum consists of five levels of courses, from basic to advanced placement. Freshmen placement is based on eighth grade standardized and placement test scores and teacher recommendation. Advancement and course sequencing is dependent upon demonstrated achievement.
