Natural Sources of this nutrient in foods

Some foods eaten everyday, contain lysine.  Although, they donŐt consist of the highest amount of lysine needed for your body.  Some foods include red meats, fish, and dairy products.  Certain vegetables such and beans, peas, and lentils also include lysine.  Although, vegetables arenŐt the best source of lysine.  This connects to the reasoning in which most vegetarians look to lysine vitamins in order to fulfill their bodies needs for Lysine.  Highest forms of Lysine is found in a glass of nonfat milk, and a slice of whole-wheat bread.

 

 

How it is used by the body

Like all amino acids Lysine works as though it is a building block for proteins.  Lysine helps produce other important necessities such as various enzymes, hormones, and disease-fighting antibodies.  In most cases Lysine is an important vitamin for one to recover and in some cases even prevent from herpes.  Lysine can also be used in ones situation that it is needed to heal shingles lesions faster. 

 

 

Effects if this Nutrient is not present

Lysine helps the body in eliminating virus infection.  As already stated Lysine only helps recover faster from certain infections.  These infections are herpes type A and B, and Shingle Lesion.
