Japanese Exchange Program

Elk Grove High School is now in the nineteenth year of its Japanese Exchange Program with Ashikodai High School and Ashitandai High School in Ashikaga, which is about one hour north of Tokyo by train. Eleven students and two staff members from the Japanese schools will come to Elk Grove for two weeks in March, 2007. They will stay with American families in the Elk Grove area, attend classes at EGHS, and have fieldtrips into Chicago and other nearby locations of interest.

This June EGHS will send a group of students and staff to Japan for two weeks. Through the courtesy of our hosts, they will experience life with Japanese families, visit classes, have fieldtrips in and near Ashikaga, and visit the modern capital of Tokyo.

The exchange program is made possible through the generous support of our sponsors.
