Welcome to ORCHESIS Orchesis is a high school dance company consisting of approximately thirty female dancers and three male dancers. The Orchesis Club at Elk Grove High School is a performing arts program that perform year-round. We perform at Elk GroveÕs Homecoming Game Coronation, Variety Show, Holiday Assembly and Earth Day Jam. Our troupe also performs at Freshman Orientation as well as elementary, junior high schools and the Sheila Ray Senior Citizen Center. Additionally, the students perform as part of the District 214 Dance Festival, District 214 Senior Dance Project, District Dance Workshops and the Artist in Residence Program. At the state level, Orchesis has had dances selected to perform at Dance Galas, the Illinois Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Convention. Accomplishments of Orchesis The Orchesis program of Elk Grove High School has been honored to have been chosen from statewide auditions and a panel of professional judges to perform at the Illinois High School Dance Festival Student Showcase twenty-two out of twenty-three years during the existence of the festival.
