Write-On

Write-On is Elk Grove High School's creative writing club. Founded by Barbara Peisker, Write-On offers students interested in writing poetry and fiction a chance to share their work with each other. Faculty sponsor and students meet one day a week after school. Students read their work and give each other positive feedback and constructive criticism. The group is very casual; students may attend just to listen and hang out, or they may read work by another poet or writer. Ms. Roland sometimes leads the group through exercises that produce writing on the spot. Whatever happens, Write-On meetings are always loud, dynamic, and fun!

The creative writing club also gives students opportunities to attend writing conferences and enter their work in contests and for publication. The group will even help students revise and prepare their writing for these occasions.

Write-On is open to students at all grade levels. All a student has to do to join is show up at a meeting!
