Appointments with the College Career Center How To and When: To schedule an appointment, students should see Mrs. Camp in the College and Career Center (CCC). Parents may make appointments by calling Mrs. Camp at 718-4441. Parents are encouraged to attend the appointments with their students. Students MUST attend the appointment; no appointments will be made without the student present. Appointments can be scheduled during the school day from 7:15 am – 3:30 pm, with the last appointment starting at 2:45. Evening appointments are available every Wednesday during 2nd Semester. What to expect: During a college counseling appointment, information will be gathered about the student with the ultimate goal of providing a list of possible school matches for the student. Information is gathered by review of the academic transcript, discussion of current courses, and ACT/SAT scores. Appointments are scheduled for one period (48 minutes), but can last longer if need be. If the student already knows where he/she is applying, then the appointment can serve as a review of the application requirements, assistance with the essay, general advice and counseling on the whole process, etc. Sometimes, students just need a couple of questions answered that does not require a full appointment. These can be answered by stopping into the CCC during the school day. Preparation: As a prerequisite to the appointment, students are required to complete the Post-High School Planning (5.9 MB PDF download). Students must turn this folder into Mrs. Camp at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment.
