Cross-Country Family Night 2012
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On the night of September 27th, 2012 we will be having Family Night. To begin the night, we will be having the meet against Buffalo Grove and Hersey. After the conclusion of the last race, we will be having a dinner (around 6:50 p.m.). I am hoping that all of you can come. If you are planning on coming, I would appreciate it if you could please bring something to contribute. I will provide the hot dogs. Below I have sorted out by grade level what people should bring so we have some variety at the dinner. If you have any questions, please contact met at Mark.Heintz@d214.org or call me at 847-718-4600. Leave me a message with your phone number so I can get back to you. The family night will take place in the cafeteria.

Congratulations to the Fresh/Soph team and their third place victory at the Roy Gummerson Invitational!!!! We had three girls in the top ten! Sara in 5th, Stephanie in 6th and Olivia in 9th!! This is the best the girls have ever done in the team's history! Despite the very windy conditions and soft ground, there were many impressive times over last year at the same meet. It goes to show you how much one year of training can do for you as an athlete!

We had another great meet!! At the JV level, we had a perfect score against Wheeling!!! We had six runners come through the chute before Wheeling had one. Beatriz Perez came in first! We now have two first places at the JV level (Autumn Carney) and one at the varsity level (Jeanne McCormick). The girls were very impressive and to cap off their victory, the girls ran an all out mile on the track minutes after the race. We had huge improvements over the mile time trial at the beginning of the season!!! In the Elk Grove vs Wheeling dual, we almost had a perfect score Wheeling at the varsity level. The score was 17 to 43. At this meet we had 24 lifetime personal bests!!!!
Elk Grove vs Wheeling Dual Results.
The Lake Park Invitational was a huge success! We had 14 lifetime personal records! We we went from 20th last year, to 13th this year. This was a great second invitational.

Elk Grove vs. Prospect Dual Results.
The Fenton Invitational was a HUGE success! We had 8 girls in front of our number two from last year’s Fenton Invite. There were over 18 lifetime personal records out of 24 runners!!!! Even though we had an incredibly tough week of practice and the heat was overwhelming, we still had a huge improvement over last year! This just shows how important running over the summer is! We are on the road to a great season! I am incredibly proud of all of you and the work you have done this season!
Fenton Invite Results
A great start to the official racing season!! Last year at our first meet, Loredana was the number one girl with a time of 21:50. Our second runner was at 23:00. This year at the first race, we had four girls ahead of Loredana's time last year! What a great improvement in just one year! Stephanie Calmeyn ran 21:12 for 3 miles this year. Last year she ran 21:50 for 2.5 in her first meet! A huge improvement in under a year! Marilyn Quintero ran 23:08 last year for 2.5, this year 21:32 for 2.6! Jacqui Colon ran 22:47 for 2.5, this year 22:04 for 2.6! Aleks Winiarz ran 23:07 last year for 2.5, this year 21:32 for 2.6! Naelly Arriaga ran 24:55 for 2.5 last year, this year 24:24! Congratulations to Autumn Carney for winning her first cross-country race!!!!
