This tutorial will help you spell check your message. 1. Before sending an email, it is often a good idea to spell check the message. |

2. Click the Check Spelling icon in the message window toolbar. |
|
|
|
3. The Spell Checker window will open. If your message is free from spelling mistakes (or unknown words to the dictionary), the window will close on its own. If there are spelling mistakes or words the dictionary does not recognize, you will be asked to correct the spelling from a list of choices. |

4a. If the word you want to use in your message is not in the dictionary, click on the With box and type in the correct spelling of the word. |
|

|
4b. Click the Replace button on the right side of the Spell Checker window to replace the word with what you have typed. |
|
|
|
4c. Click the Replace All button to replace all of the occurrences of this misspelled word with your correction. |

|
5. You may also chose the correct spelling of a word from the dictionary list. Click on the choice you want to replace your misspelled word with and follow steps 4b and 4c. |

6a. If the word is correct and you want to ignore the spell check for that word, click on the Skip button to skip this entry of the word and leave it as it has been typed in the message. |

6b. If you know this spelling exists several times in the document, you may click the Skip All button to skip and leave as is all the entries of this word in the message. |
|

7. If the word you have typed is correct and you want the computer to remember the spelling of this word, click the Add Word button in the lower left-hand corner of the Spell Checker window. NOTE: This only adds the word to the computer you are working on at the time. The dictionary of added words does not follow you from computer to computer. |

8. If you do not want to finish spell checking the message, click the Cancel button in the lower right-hand corner of the Spell Checker window and the widow will close. |

9. You may customize the spell checker by clicking on the Options tab in the Spell Checker window. Click the Save button to keep these spell checking preferences each time you use the spell checker |

10. The message will now have your spelling corrections in place of the original misspelled words. The statistics for the spell check will appear to you in the status bar below the message portion of the window |

11. Click Send and Close to send your spell checked document to its recipient. |
